I suggest writing to your congresscritters and Trump asking them to end the NRC with a clean sweep. There is no way one can meaningfully reform 5 million documents into something sensible. Perhaps just adopt the UAE system in toto as a replacement.
It does no good. You will contact some flunky, that will keep anything and everything from going up the ladder to WH, Senate, or Rep.
Need to push CONgress and WH to have true on-line groups where reps/senators will have ONLY constituents, and not outside lobbyists. Until this happens, we are all kind of screwed.
My understanding is that they at least keep a count of letters for and against on various topics. It may not help, but it never hurts to let your reps know your opinions.
Keeps the bureaucrats in a job. We have the same problem in the UK. Getting planning permission for the construction of the Lower Thames Crossing cost more than the total cost of the longest road tunnel in Europe (?) built by Denmark.
Terrific article Robert! I wish I'd written it.

Oh, what a tangled web they weaved!
We need to totally reform the NRC and remove LNT and ALARA from the nuclear lexicon.
